Fairbanks Rescue Mission (FRM) Recycling Center
Hours:
The Center is open to the General Public
. Drop-off recyclables anytime.
Local businesses may arrange a special drop-off Tuesday – Friday from 9:00
AM to 4:00 PM. Please contact Stacy Strubinger, Recycling Team Leader,
by
E-Mail or call 452-5343 ext 110 to schedule.
The principal goal of this project is to help our community's homeless
and disadvantaged gain job skills and career counseling; however, from
this goal stems the following Triple-Top Line outcomes:
- Environmental:
- Reduces the amount of waste entering our landfills
- Conserves our natural resources
- Reduces energy consumption and pollution
- Social:
- Provides job training and skill building for our community's homeless
- Provides a free recycling service for local businesses and residents
- Teaches the community about the merits of recycling and compassion for
the disadvantaged
- Economic:
- Provides a small return for the Fairbanks Rescue Mission
- Reduces landfill and solid waste costs for the FNSB

Newspaper - Clean; Inserts OK
Mixed Paper - Office Paper, Magazine, Phone Books, Cereal/Beverage Boxes,
Paper-Back Books, Junk Mail, Egg Cartons, etc.
Aluminum - Beverage Containers; No Food Residue,
No Steel or tin Food Containers, No Foil
Plastic #1 - Salad Dressing Containers, Soda, Water, and Juice bottles
Plastic #2 - Milk Jugs, Cat Litter Containers, Laundry
Detergent Jugs, etc.
